PRE- BALLET DANCE PROGRAM
Monday- Thursday
We offer a fun and exciting Ballet program for ages 3 and 4. Our program is designed to introduce classical ballet in a format that our little dancers can relate to. We have implemented this curriculum for more than 20 years with wonderful success and a lot of smiles.

BALLET CLASS
Monday -Thursday
Ballet is an artistic dance form based on an elaborate formal technique, characterized by gestures and movements of grace, precision, and fluidity. TDC offers ballet in a fun and encouraging atmosphere. We believe a healthy mind and body helps dancers achieve their highest goals.

COMBINATION CLASSES
Monday - Thursday
We offer combination dance class for ages 5-7 years of age. Our combination classes are 1.5 hours long and offer ballet, tap and jazz. TDC believes that offering these types of classes are a great way to introduce different genres of dance to our young dancers.

MODERN DANCE CLASS
Monday-Thursday
Modern dance is often described as fluid and freeform, alternating between long, languid movements, and jerky ones that show the contraction and expansion of the body. Some dancers create their own unique moves for routines or even use improvisation during their performances.

LYRICAL CLASS
Monday-Thursday
Lyrical is a dance style that embodies various aspects of ballet, jazz and some acrobatics. Lyrical is strongly associated with clearly displayed emotional moods, fast-moving choreographic strategies, emphasis on virtuosic display, illustration of song lyrics. The style is usually danced at a faster pace than ballet but not as fast as jazz.

TAP CLASS
Monday - Thursday
Tap is a dance in which the rhythm or rhythmical variation is audibly tapped out with the toe or heel by a dancer wearing shoes with taps. Tap dance is a unique form of dance where the dancers feet become the instrument.

JAZZ CLASS
Monday - Thursday
Jazz dance is a performance dance style that arose in the United States in the mid 20th century. Jazz combines techniques of classical ballet and modern dance with the current forms of popular dance styles. Jazz also has its own movement vocabulary ranging from the isolation of certain body parts to the movement of the entire body with the accents of musical rhythms. Jazz dance can take on many different characteristics and styles, including Street Jazz, Percussive, Broadway, Contemporary and Lyrical. Jazz classes can be patterned in any of these styles or a combination of them. Emphasis is on the importance of energy, rhythmical accuracy, and style.

HIP-HOP CLASS
Monday - Thursday
Hip-hop is a dance style, usually danced to hip-hop music, that evolved from the hip-hop culture. Improvisation and personal interpretation are essential to hip-hop dancing. Often hip hop is referred to as a “street” style of dance based on music videos. It is a less technical and high energy style of dance that is often done in street clothes and sneakers.

POINTE CLASS
Monday - Thursday
Dancing on pointe is the act of standing on the tips of the toes while performing steps from ballet. Also known as pointe work, it is performed using hard–toed and stiff-shanked pointe shoes. Dancing on pointe requires strength and skill, so prior permission from the director is required before students begin taking pointe classes. Prerequisite: 3 years of ballet training.

TECHNIQUE CLASS
Monday - Tuesday
Dance technique classes are designed to improve the dancer's technical dance skills, abilities, and performance quality.

MUSICAL THEATER CLASS
Monday - Thursday
Musical Theatre class is an exploration of American Musical Theatre. Students will work of their actor/singer/dancer skills and use their gained knowledge to develop as performers.
